The Bikepark Leogang opens its gates on May 17th

14 May 2007  |
In one week, on May 17th, it will finally happen: The Bikepark Leogang will open its gates! In order to welcome the season properly on this weekend, all bike fans are welcome to race around the park's various tracks. The cable cars can hardly wait to take bikes instead of skis up the mountain. Two events at the Bikepark promise to be the highlights of the bike summer 2007: the Out of Bounds Weekend and the iXS Cup. In a few days, the tracks at the Bikepark Leogang will be open again for all riders. From the opening day, May 17th until June 3rd there will be a special opening discount of 15%. Should a biker not be able to make it to Leogang on the first weekend, there are two more weeks to benefit from this discount. This year the Bikepark also offers a special 3-Day-Ticket for 65 EUR. This is a great deal, especially if you arrive early on a Friday. Courses like the Flying Gangstar (Freeride) or the Speedstar (Downhill), will be open from May 17th to June 3rd, Thursdays until Sundays, from 9am – 12pm and 1pm – 4.45pm. Also the many events, which will happen in the Bikepark Leogang this summer, are sure to attract lots of bike fans. The prelude for this will be the Out of Bounds Weekend from June 7th – 10th at the Bikepark Leogang. Besides the 26 TRIX, it will host the Kona Top 2 Bottom Terminator, a dual Freeride slalom, for the first time this year. The registration is open to everyone on www.bikepark-leogang.com. Three weeks later, another event takes place that no one should miss: the iXS Downhill Cup, which stops in Leogang from June 30th to July 1st 2007. Within four weeks this event makes three stops: first in Germany (Bad Wildbad), then in Switzerland (Scoul) and afterwards in Austria. The Austrian stop will be in Leogang for the first time and will ensure that the downhill elite comes to the Bikepark over the weekend! The fact that the Bikepark Leogang is one of the stops of this tour is no coincidence: the most demanding courses in the three nations were chosen, suggesting the high level of competition of this series and guaranteeing action. Not only active riders, but also many spectators are expected to cheer as 500 bikers are racing on the 2,200 m long course with an average downward gradient of 20.7% and 460 TC on this weekend! Those who would like to ride the iXS Cup in the Bikepark Leogang should apply online at: www.ixsdownhillcup.com. Registration is open from May 19th until June 22nd. Further information regarding the opening of the Bikepark Leogang and the iXS Downhill Cup can be found on www.bikepark-leogang.com
